Ashley & Mai - Harry Potter Forest Wedding in Austin, TX

Ashley & Mai's love for Harry Potter and all things magical is only surpassed by their love for each other, as it is easy to see in their lifestyle portraits taken in their home (and featuring Ally the cat). They had an intimate wedding ceremony (just the two of them!) in a natural setting in north Austin on the most beautiful evening. Their improvised vows were said from the heart, and you can easily read the joy and happiness in their eyes. Click to enlarge.

Matt & Chelsea - Mercury Hall Austin Wedding

You may remember Matt & Chelsea from this engagement session. Their wedding day was a beautiful, albeit rainy, afternoon. Check out the photos below for badass cigar portraits and sweet kisses among the tree. Click to enlarge.

Tim & April - Doctor Who Inspired Wedding and Portraits

Every time I spend some time with Tim & April, I like them more - we share a love of vegan ice cream for starters - so I was super excited to capture their wedding. Tim & April got married in an intimate ceremony on January 1, 2016 at the Institution Theater.

Their ceremony was personal, sweet and incredibly unique. The opening was filled with references to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Doctor Who, Firefly, Star Trek and more. April is a musician and she performed a very sweet Snow Patrol cover. Afterwards, friends and family feasted on the most delicious of kolaches, punch (complete with Tardis ice cubes) and other goodies.

A few months later, we got together at the Blanton to capture portraits that weren't possible on their big day. Click to enlarge.

Ismael & Kate - Lifestyle Bridal Portraits in Austin

Since Kate & Ismael's wedding day was so rainy, I offered to do day-after bridal portraits. They told me they were staying the Austin Motel. I told them that was perfect. We explored up and down South Congress and ended the shoot with a splash in the pool. Check it out below, and click to enlarge.

Kevin & Casandra - Kickass Nerdy Outdoor Wedding

Kevin & Casandra's wedding was one of the most unique weddings I've shot and a great way to kick off the 2015 wedding season. KJ, their son, was included in the wedding ceremony in a really awesome way (and he has some of the sweetest dance moves I've ever seen!).

They opted for a lifestyle wedding shot, forgoing the traditional family photos and opting for more photojournalistic photos that captured natural moments - mom and daughter laughing, Kevin & Casandra snapping post-wedding selfies, and friends showing off their shoes. Kevin is super into sneakers, and he exchanged custom-made sneakers with Casanda that were designed to show off their past, present and future together.

Check out this wedding for Star Wars, sweet kicks, and a whole lotta love below. Click to enlarge.
