Fields & Flowers: Musical Glamour Portraits in Austin, TX

Brushy Creek Park is one of my favorite places to shoot because it has sweeping fields of wildflowers, groves of shady trees and a cool creek. It's the perfect location for 70s inspired glamour portraits for a folk musician. A flower crown, the perfect yellow dress, and the Irish tin flute and Irish drum made for gorgeous portraits.

Kera & Travis - Colorful Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center Wedding

I photograph a lot of weddings, so I don't usually get super emotional during the ceremony. But I cried happy tears when Kera & Travis got married - and I'm just the photographer! Typically quiet Travis shouting "I LOVE YOU" at the top of his lungs just did me in - there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Kera & Travis had one of the most personal weddings I've had the pleasure of photographing. Every detail was infused with their personalities, from the custom cake topper that Kera made herself to the bluesy music they wove throughout the day. Click to enlarge.

San Antonio: Botanical Garden

On a recent trip to San Antonio, I made a point to stop at the city's botanical garden on the recommendation of a friend. It was beautiful, and easily one of the nicest botanical gardens I've ever visited. I spent at least 2 hours wandering around admiring the flora and I still don't think I saw everything! If you happen to be in the area, I whole heartedly recommend stopping in. One of the highlights of the visit was the Lego exhibit scattered throughout the garden. Click to enlarge.

ATX: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

A couple weeks ago I visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center as part of Austin's Museum Day - a wonderful city-wide event when many museums are free to visit. Of course I brought my camera along! See below for a few quick snaps L this lovely place.
